Rosie's Bakehouse started as a small bagel cafe by native New Yorker Rosie Sheehan. Upon moving to Ireland, Rosie was unable to find the authentic bagels she grew up with. So Rosie developed a range of bagels from a traditional NY recipe, using no additives or preservatives. The product range has expanded to include burger buns, hot dog buns and brioche buns. And now Rosie's bagels and other bakery products are shipped throughout Europe.
Target of 80% of suppliers presenting sustainability credentials by 2020 - this target has already been met and the target has been revised to 100% of suppliers by 2020.
Rosies Bakehouse support an initiative with secondary school students for a sustainability module in their Transition Year programme. It is hoped that this initiative with TY students will provide a new stretch target for 2018 and beyond – namely to develop a TY programme around sustainability that could be communicated to other interested schools.
