Who is involved?

The Origin Green programme is made up of farmers, primary producers and food and drink manufacturers. International and domestic collaborators also key to the integrity of the programme.

Bord Bia Quality Assurance auditors inspect Origin Green farms every 18 months and compile data on the sustainability of each farm. The information gathered by each auditor is combined with data from two other national livestock databases; the Animal Identification & Movement (AIM) and the Irish Cattle Breeders Federation (ICBF).

Food and Drink Manufacturers

Origin Green verified members now account for over 90% of Ireland’s total food and drink exports portfolio. These members have committed to a minimum of six sustainability targets under the Origin Green Charter and have had their sustainability plans independently verified by international auditors, SGS.

Collaboration plays a key role in the enhancement and development of the Origin Green programme. Its rollout would not have been possible without assistance from a range of different stakeholders. The involvement of these collaborators is crucial to ensuring the successful delivery and ongoing implementation of Origin Green.
